Congratulations to the amazing team at FitQuid who won Fortunis Capital’s inaugural Foreign Innovation category at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

The judges were impressed by FitQuid’s unique wellness app, which uses gamification tech to offer the over 50s incentives to stay fit, active and healthy.

Users can gain ‘points’ through taking part in activities to redeem for discounts at key partners, including retailers, or donate to a favourite cause.

As a leading impact investor and Home Office endorsing body, Fortunis Capital shares the Government’s mission to bring the “best of the best” to UK.

Our sponsorship of this important new category at the ‘Oscars for entrepreneurs’ ties in with our mission to support innovators who make a positive difference to the world we live in, while delivering returns to investors.

FitQuid co-founder Mahdi Almubarak said:  "It is a surreal experience to win at the GBEA and we couldn't be any happier. We would like to thank the Fortunis Capital family for all their backing and support and all the GBEA team for organising the event of the year during such a difficult time."

Fortunis Capital’s Sir Andrew Ross, who introduced the awards category on the night, said that supporting companies such as FitQuid was key to driving the nation’s economic recovery.

He said: “This is a well-deserved win for the inspirational FitQuid team of Mahdi, Shahnaz Rabiel and Ebrahim Almubarak. Congratulations to all the winners at the GBEA. Britain is very much open for business.”

GBEA founder Francesca James, said: “This year has been tough, emotional and challenging for so many of us. I’m so inspired, though, by all our winners and finalists’ sheer hard work, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Every single one them is truly exceptional and they should be very proud to call themselves Great British entrepreneurs.

“I want to thank our judges who give so much time and energy to these Awards and our community. And, of course, our sponsors. They believe in, support and champion each and every member of the community. This evening and this community wouldn’t be possible without them.”
